The  Central Florida International Auto Show landed at the Orange County Convention Center (Orlando) over Thanksgiving weekend – as it does every year.  Throughout the North Concourse, manufacturers showcased their best and newest with an up close and hands-on experience from Subaru, Kia, Ford, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Chevrolet, Jeep, Ram, Dodge, GMC, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Lincoln, Mercedes, Cadillac, Buick, Lexus, Acura, and Mazda among others.  The show also included antique and classic cars, simulators, and the ability to drive various models in the parking lot.  Participating dealers from the Central Florida Auto Dealers Association were also associated with the event.

This annual show provides the central Florida market an opportunity to browse and compare various manufacturers’ models without the hassle of driving from dealership to dealership, saving lots of time and trouble.  Representatives are on hand to answer questions in a relaxed and comfortable environment – no sales occur at the show.  And if you want to go from one brand to another – and back – the comparison is only steps away.

Outside many of the manufacturers were busy giving test-drives for interested future customers.  In a casual atmosphere, attendees can drive and compare from behind the wheel – and again go from brand to brand.  Makes a lot of sense!

One manufacturer – Jeep – was giving four-by-four rides inside the convention center.  With their various four wheel drive vehicles on display, drivers would take attendees through a series of obstacles and hills to demonstrate the capabilities of their products.  Passengers could be seen with surprised and sometimes fearful looks as drivers negotiated steep climbs – sometimes with two wheels on the hill and two wheels on the ground!  Great!

Even if you are not in the market for a new car, this show always provides a look at what is new in the world of cars and trucks – and technology.  And it is a nice afternoon of walking around and spending time with friends and family.  Check it out next year!
