Motorcycles, Roads and Morons

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, deaths from automobile iihs logocollisions to automobile drivers and passengers have dropped significantly from 1975 to 2014 – from 30,000 to 21,000. During the same period, deaths involving motorcyclists have risen from 3,100 to 4,300. What is significant is that the number of deaths from motorcycle collisions was 7% in 1974, but in 2014 was 14% of total deaths. This percentage has been over 10% since 2005. That is disturbing at best.

Alternative Volunteering…

This spring’s PCA Challenge Rally was held on Sunday, April 24, starting at Millenia Motors in Longwood, east of Orlando. A record number of participants and their Porsches (and other makes) showed up, raising $5,100 in donations, matched with an additional $2,500 from the club’s coffers. The Russell Home was presented with a check for $7,600.
